In 2002 I went to a dirty, low-ceilinged rock club in London (maybe Islington?) and saw the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, the Liars and McLusky (in that order?) and was simultaneously knocked down, spun around and thrown through the roof. There are elements of all 3 of those bands in the music of PRE - the sexy yelping of the YYYs, the calculated start-stop-dissolve shambolics of the Liars and the cleverly sinister and catchy melodies of McLusky all brought to you with a twist from this London 5 piece. Epic Fits, born on September 18th weighing 14 songs and coming in just over 20 minutes tall, was recorded on two inch tape, and if "Drool" and "Popping Showers," don't make you go on an epic search to get your hands on this record then you probably won't care that these nutters covered "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap," for a SKiN GRAFT AC/DC covers record (that comes as a deluxe double 7" and comic book set in November) that runs like a merry-go-round on crack.
