A friend of ours who attended the Catskills edition of the hallowed All Tomorrow’s Parties festival said that EPMD—the only hip-hop act invited by curator My Bloody Valentine—were “legendary” that Sunday night. Well, obviously. They were legendary when Strictly Business came out twenty years ago. The Long Island duo have been doing the reunion thing as of late, and the people at Scion A/V thought it wise to include them in their remix series, which has seen producers like DJ Mehdi, Sammy Bananas, and Yuksek take on cuts from guys like Ghostface and 45 King in the past. For this edition, London boys-of-the-moment Sinden, Hervé, and Duke Dumont all tackle a track called “Run It,” –maybe from the duo’s rumored new album We Mean Business??—adding a little underground bassline house throb to the standard EPMD swagger.
