STREAM: Luomo - Love You All + If I Can't

Sasu Ripatti has an awful lot of music personality tied up in his lean little frame. Each time it spills out it takes on a different form and a different name: Vladislav Delay for his abstract IDM moments, Uusitalo for dancefloor-driven tech-house, and Luomo for vocally effuse pop music. This year it's Luomo's turn to deliver, which he does with a host of guest vocalists on his forthcoming fourth album, Convivial. In addition to house music legend Robert Owens and current leading lady of minimal house, Cassy, the album features vocals from Sissor Sisters' Jake Shears and Apparat. The former, whose hyper harmonized vocals do the lifting of all three Bee Gees at once, sashays around the panning synths and thumping bass line of future disco cut "If I Can't." But the most histrionic moment on Convivial is the Apparat-helmed "Love You All," his deliberately stretched vocals draped loosely over swooning melodies and jabbing drums, as if being in love made forming words a chore. But there's nothing difficult about enjoying the jams radiating from Luomo's latest effort.

Sounds like: Superpitcher, Apparat, Morgan Geist
