DOWNLOAD AND VIDEO: The Silent Years - On Our Way Home + Black Hole
Listening to the Silent Years' The Globe, which was released late this summer (if we can still call it summer) made me think of stories I had read on my friend's blog about the great out doors, particularly this tale. The video for "On Our Way Home," has an explorer lost in space feel instead of kids lost in Colorado, and the Silent Years have admitted that every song on this record can go from experiences personal to experiences universal with just a tiny shift in view. Campfire tales are made of things that seems small and laden with inconsequential details like Ford Aerostar's and Little Caesar's pizza, broken down cars and busted compasses but it's their ability to be told under great open skies that make them epic tales. Therein lies the beauty of the Silent Years. Grab these two tunes and read the story and start spending more time under the stars.
