Like fellow Swedes The Tough Alliance, The Sound Of Arrows are two guys who play pop music for idealists. They list Berlin’s “Take My Breath Away” as a major influence and it shows—their songs smile with the same grand keyboard pads and crashing mid-tempo percussion, not only fearless of the big hook but desperately running towards it like a child clamoring for his mother. First single “Danger!” is a neon pop nugget, its two-note synth line carrying the chorus like a unicorn sprinting through a wood, singing with tongue firmly planted in cheek, “Tonight it’s danger baby, I feel so dangerous.” Straight sonic Zoloft for your ear canal.
