There are actually three different Fire Islands in Alaska. That is confusing. I have no idea which one head Long Winterer John Roderick is referencing in this song from 2006's Putting The Days To Bed (probably the one of the coast of Anchorage, his hometown, but who cares) and it sounds like none of the people at Spaceland in this thought much of it either; they were too busy cheering along to Roderick's band intros (why don't bands do that anymore?) and agile rocking. An exclusive live version, this track is taken from a late July show and happens to coincide with Spaceland's new Web TV series At The Show, presented in conjunction with Mania TV.
