Modular News: Bumblebeez, Bang Gang Deejays, Ladyhawke, Tough Alliance, Cut Copy & The Presets
THE BUMBLEBEEZ - PRINCE UMBERTO AND THE SISTER OF ILL - DIGITAL ALBUM AVAILABLE NOW!
The new digital only album by The Bumblebeez is out now in the USA! The BBz are the funky brother and sister duo from you know where who mix elements of hip hop, electro, indie, Brit Pop, techno and sort of everything in between. It's a fun filled album where the vibe changes from one song to the next, but together makes one big beautiful mess. The album was recorded and produced in Australia by the world famous James Ford of Simian Mobile Disco. The ITUNES version of the record features remixes of their tune "Rio" by Herve, and Etienne de Crecy.
This week they're a Featured Artist on MySpace and you can listen to their full album on Spinner on AOL or RCRD LBL
THE BANG GANG DEEJAYS
The Bang Gang Deejays are renowned for laying down club rub after club rub to the point where everyone simultaneously experiences a dance climax and the rafters rattle with the heaving bodily mass of a thousand people loosing their minds. The Bang Gang Deejays are Ajax, Gus Da Hoodrat, Jamie Doom, DJ Damage, Nolan Nolan and Dangerous Dan, whether you’ve heard of them as a collective or individually you’ll know they can throw one helluva party.
Last year we gave you Light Sound Dance, otherwise known as LSD – the double disc compilation to out-dance all other compilations. This year we’ve got a new fruity frappe of jams selected and mixed together by The Bang Gang themselves, it goes by the name of D is for Disco, E is for Dancing. It'll drop in late October/early November but more information on this mix will trickle in by the week, so stay wide-eyed and focused on modularpeople.com for news.
Without further fluffing about, we have a teaser for D is for Disco, E is for Dancing online for you right now. It features about 45 songs in 10 minutes, covering everything from Ghostface Killah to Kid Cudi, Treasure Fingers, a little baile funk and a whole slab of disco. So either sign up to our ModCast or refresh your iTunes to grab the goodness. Otherwise, XLR8R are hosting it over here.
THE TOUGH ALLIANCE
The Tough Alliance are a duo of dreamers from Gothenburg, of which not a lot of personal information is known, but whose notoriety precedes them with hefty weight. Kicking about in their native Sweden since 2004 and having established themselves as one of the most infamous bands on the scene there, with the forthcoming release of their latest album A New Chance on Modular late September, The Tough Alliance are ready to take on the world, one disbeliever at a time.
A New Chance is a pure turquoise dream of ecstatic house pianos, white sand, melancholic strings, blind faith in the future and how everything – hand on heart - comes down to emotions. It’s the record that sounds like an endless summer, and it will be preceded by the first single Neo Violence, with remixes to come from Laidback Luke, Zongamin, Woolfy and Windsur.
Sweden has had their share of The Tough Alliance, now it’s everyone else’s turn to fall in love. For a thorough introduction into the duo's charms, check them out on YouTube.

LADYHAWKE
In recent weeks, Ladyhawke has been winging around the world delivering video diaries to update us all. In between tour dates she managed to swing through Los Angeles and jump the que for Disneyland and get in for a day ofMickey Mouse themed madness, see what happened here.

THE PRESETS
Talk Like That is to be the next single from Apocalypso, and comes with a straight up sick set of remixes from Jence (Digitalism), Dave Spoon, Optimo and CFCF.
We mentioned it last week, but in case you missed the beat, there is also a fantastic new video for Talk Like That, directed by the mighty, exceptionally talented French duo Jonas & Francois (Justice, Kanye West, Madonna). The video sees a tragically devoted, timelessly beautiful angel praying at the alter of The Presets, followed by a ritualistic destruction of instruments, some wonderfully ethereal slow mo dancing, and a surreal sequence of Kim and Jules in some kind of teenage bedroom talking about cream and sneakers. See it here.
The Presets and Cut Copy will be touring the USA this Fall. Visit our Touring section for all the details.
