DOWNLOAD: Drei Farben House - Modernism

German producer Michael Siegle makes music under the alias Drei Farben House, or Three Colored House for those of you without Babelfish cued up. Indeed, you could say his restrained and linear strain of house music is painted in three colors if viewed from a distance. But listen more closely and you'll hear shades, overtones and hues of tone and timbre, painted in light brush strokes across kicks, synth leads and other random tidbits. Some of Siegel's earlier recordings are dabbed with his own gentle vocals, calling to mind the Pet Shop Boys with newer equipment , German temperment and less snark. But the cut we have for you -- "Modernism" (from his latest album Blending Days on Kupei Musika) -- hues more to a narrow color palatte spread much broader by Siegle's impressive sound design.
