Slim Twig: Vernacular Violence EP

slim twig - vernacular violence

We write today's blog at Paper Bag Towers with a heady mixture of pleasure and excitement as we announce the August 5 release of Slim Twig's "Vernacular Violence EP".

"Vernacular Violence" is the follow up to "Derelict Dialect EP" released back in April, also through Paper Bag Records which helped establish the young Toronto resident as "...A rising scene star and renaissance-man-about-town". Slim's unconventional song stylings and "other-worldly" live shows have won him plenty of fans.

Slim's sound is extremely avant garde and takes influence from the likes of Scott Walker, Eno, Nick Cave and Thurston Moore. His most recent recordings involve a grittier sound, self-coined as 'Concrete Rockabilly' that began to turn eyes and
ears last year. "Vernacular Violence EP" presents further clues at what we
might expect to see him offer in the near future as he works towards
his first full-length album.

In celebration of releasing  "Vernacular Violence EP" we've also created 300 beautiful, limited-edition vinyls combining both Slim Twig EPs - grab one whilst you can.

Vernacular Violence EP Track Listing:

1. Brothel Hunting
2. Tormen
3. Street Proposition
4. Whiite Fantaseee
5. Gate Hearing!

'Birthing & Birthing' from the "Derelict Dialect EP".
