Kudos to a band that lists its influences as "the desert, pre-war blues, 60’s rock and roll, the deep sea, rainbows, natural magic, symmetry, gold, animals, outsiders, railroads, the late night, youthful revolution, mangos, electricity, friends, time travel." Better yet, Golden Animals truly does sound like dust-blown, leather-tethered, and sun-washed ala 1960s love children. Tommy Eisner has the lax slur of a cowboy and a startling vocal similarity to Jim Morrison. Their track "Try On Me," discussing velvet haze and seven oceans, is equally intoxicating. Relish it like a 1960s frolicking naked hippie for a day.
