DOWNLOAD: Zigmat - Light Of The Moon

In he "Light of the Moon," Brooklyn-via-Puerto Rico's Monica Rodriguez sounds bewitchingly like Beth Gibbons of The Gossip while the electronic synth and electric guitar twangs carve a strikingly "Gossip"-esque beat. Don't believe me? Llisten to The Gossip's "Yr Mangled Heart" and then this Zigmat track and you may be convinced to send Rick Rubin a briefing that Beth's got East Coast competition. Regardless, "Light of the Moon" is a bad-ass (and slightly sadistic) tune- about medicating your {mangled?} heart and then making love by the light of the moon. Bewitching indeed.
Oh - and to further feed the addiction, we bring you two more tracks: "Between Bullets" is a soft mix between the cooing jazz air of Sade and the lullaby other-world of Sigur Ros. Meanwhile, "Machines" is eerie, purring synth distortion- a perfect backing-track for a horror film set in Lower East Side alleys involving vampires and chicks clad in black pleather. Yeah, that's right, vampires and pleather oh my.
psst check em Merc Lounge July 9th why don't you.
