DOWNLOAD: Alizée - Fifty Sixty (David Rubato remix)

Alizée is a French popstar who was put on the scene by Mylene Farmer, who is pretty much considered to be the French Madonna. Mylene wanted a younger, fresher singer to perform some of her younger, fresher songs, and they both struck gold with “Moi… Lolita” in 1999—a sort of classier, funnier, more provoking “Baby… One More Time”. Anyway, millions of album sales later, Alizée's new single “Fifty Sixty” (off of her third studio album Psychédelices) has been reworked by Institubes producer David Rubato, who transforms it from sugar-coated pop song to ‘60s sex-romp, a la Serge Gainsbourg/Jane Birkin. If we were on a yacht in St. Tropez sucking down cocktails right now, this is what we would be listening to. Sigh…

Sounds like: Serge Gainsbourg, Jane Birkin, Sally Shapiro
