Say hello to Psychic Powers, the newest addition to the RCRD LBL family. The duo (comprised of members Nik Brinkman and Alejandro Cohen) hail from Los Angeles and sounds like the missing link between Sally Shapiro and The Psychedelic Furs: their Italo disco vibe and soft vocals are complimented with ‘80s guitar chords and lovelorn lyrics. Basically, everything that's right up our alley. “Special Boy” could have been written by Ian McCulloch, whereas “Frozen” (not a Madonna cover, unfortunately) brims with the sort of electro pop joy usually reserved for music produced by Vince Clarke. We’ll be releasing more exclusive tracks from Psychic Powers very soon, so stay tuned for more West Coast pop from these two.
