DOWNLOAD: Ian Pooley - My Thing

We don’t know what’s in the water in Germany, but it seems like everyone there is some sort of awesome techno DJ (in the same way that Sweden has the market cornered on cutesy indie pop). Ian Pooley is based in Berlin and makes hypnotic electro records highly influenced by Brazilian dance music (he recalls hearing “an audible click” when first being exposes to Brazilian music in nightclubs). The result is an updated version of “Pacific State” by 808 State: tropical vibes that somehow survive the cold, deliberately clinical climate of most techno music. Today we’re releasing Pooley’s track “My Thing”, whose bursts of Spanish guitar and muted, bouncy bassline are sure to get your head bobbing. We’ve never actually been to Brazil, but if we did we’re sure that this is what it would sound like.
