DOWNLOAD: Hot Silk Pockets - What's The Matter

Let’s end the week with some awesomely sweet British indie pop, shall we? What’s so great about the whole indie pop/twee/C86 scene is that so many bands who are all so aesthetically and stylistically on the same page, so if you’re into it you can rarely go wrong. In New York we have the mind-bogglingly amazing Pains of Being Pure at Heart at the moment, but across the pond Drowned in Sound are championing Hot Silk Pockets, a group whose members hail from all across the British Isles, and joyfully bridge the (albeit wafer-thin) gap between The Popguns and ‘80s post punk oddities …And the Native Hipsters. Their song “What’s the Matter” is essential listening for anyone who was really sad when Life Without Buildings broke up and consider Rip It Up and Start Again their personal bible.
Sounds like: Ponytail, The Popguns, Beat Happening
