VIDEO: The Gossip - "Are U That Somebody?" (Live at Webster Hall)
Last night we witnessed, first hand, the awesome devastation that can come upon those who oppose Hurricane Gossip. The Gossip’s one-off show (in celebration of their live album Live in Liverpool, out now) was pure punk rock spectacle, and while we had momentarily fallen off the bandwagon, we are vehemently back on and ready to steer this mother straight into the glorious horizon. Every song was attacked with brutal force, and as Beth Ditto sagely mused halfway through the set: “It doesn’t matter if every note is perfect, or if everything is on key. The only thing that matters is that we’re all together.” The whole thing ended with loads of kids overtaking the security guards and pogo-ing their way onstage to dance with Beth. Magical.
