It’s been an interesting ride for the Gossip. From finding their roots in Arkansas, to garnering indie rock stardom in Olympia, WA, to garnering real stardom with their latest international hit album Standing in the Way of Control, it seems like there’s nothing the trio can’t accomplish. Beth Ditto has gone from being the weirdo punk rock gospel front woman to fashion and scene icon, and luckily the music has followed suit in terms of popularity. Today we’re releasing a live version of “Yr Mangled Heart” from their upcoming live album Live in Liverpool (which is in stores today). It’s quintessential Gossip: brutal, dirty, nasty, and catchy as hell.
