There are times when it's good to be straight-forward and direct: intense talks with your loved one, congressional hearings, phone calls from Mom, etc. Awesome Color cut no corners and I appreciate that in a big way. They rarely flirt. The guitars are loud and the riffs are plentiful and both rattle your ribcage without wasting much time. IT JUST MAKES SENSE.

"Eyes of Light" is the blistering opening track to the trio's sophomore long-player (out on 4/29) and "Already Down" its just as feisty follow-up. It's as though these guys plug in and —KABLAAM— they somehow sound exactly like acid-dipped lions running alongside the rest of a much larger acid-dipped pride through the halls of your middle school. Man, that would have been awesome. Can you imagine?
