Wesleyan University is churning out stellar musicians faster than RISD can churn out green-haired graphic designers. These days, it hard to read a god-damn bio without seeing the Connecticut-based Liberal Arts college slotted in there somewhere. MGMT, Shy Child, Bear Hands- even the Brooklyn rapper Santi White (ooops Santogold) studied there. Not to mention, the majority of them then seem to end up in Brooklyn, probably rooming with green-haired RISD cats.

Out of the newest crop of Wesleyan kids, Red Wire Black Wire is pretty damn fierce. The synth-heavy song Compass would be the perfect track for Rocky Balboa to sprint up those infamous stairs, shed a tear, and then breakdance back down. And yeah, it was my lill bro who turned me on to them. And yes I'm feeling old.
