One of the most honest interviews we’ve ever read was an Oasis (we know, right?) interview from the time their last record came out. In it, Liam Gallagher talked about the fact that, after years of rock ‘n’ roll extravagance and beyond-pompous behavior, he realized that his band was, along with being one of the best rock bands of the ‘90s, a “’60s nostalgia band”, and that’s where their strength lay. For some reason, that quote popped into our heads while listening to “Rodeo Songs” by the Young Lords, the New York quintet who craft ‘60s-inspired tunes paying homage to early Rolling Stones and Kinks. It's a perfect tune if you’re heading down to Austin this week. Road trip!
