EXCLUSIVE DOWNLOAD: The Prayers

Our favorite San Diego rock band, the Prayers, are releasing two new songs exclusive on RCRD LBL today, and they both sort of shy away from the ragged post-Libertines indie punk we’ve come to expect from the band and delve into slightly deeper territory. The first song up is “In a Small Town”, wherein the searing, angular guitars the band have become known for fall between upbeat, ultra-cadenced drums—like The Specials if they were from a slum in California and not a council estate in Coventry. The next song is “Virginia Greene Turns to Gold”, which is straight up Kinks circa ’69 melodic guitar pop. Check out the new songs and all the band’s past RCRD LBL singles.
