Quinn Walker's making some name for himself. Got people calling him "shaman," "genius," "an entire fun house orchestra," and all this from a two disc, 29-track solo debut. Unheard of. Or maybe not. Because, see, Quinn Walker, he's got it. Sounds like House On The Rock looks. An inexplicable but undeniably inspired ramshackle collection/collision of a world of influences and visions. Beatlesy orchestration, Bowie balls, religious fervor, k-5 carelessness, psychy far out freakness... Let's just say that his association with Animal Collective is more than just a passing thing.

On "Plenty Of Water For Mud," he pushes his medicine man aesthetic from humble folky beginnings to gleeful bathrobe-clad cult stuff, grandiose and yelping. From Wooden Wand to Dark Meat to Harlem Gospel Choir. Gives your goosebumps chills. Makes your tears cry. Major stuff. Under no circumstances should you miss it. See the light. Go.
