White Williams at Studio B last night, Sunday 2/10/2008

Tyler Drosdeck on Bass, Hayes Shanesy on Guitar, Joe Williams in center

Despite the wicked artic cold that blew through NYC last night, hardcore White Williams fans trekked to Studio B. Thankfully, Joe Williams (aka the 23-year old musical mastermind behind White Williams) created a pseudo summer sanctuary, streaming clips of the 1960's legendary surfer flick “Endless Summer” in the background. As reflections of tan surfers in teeny swimsuits flickered on his plaid shirt, Joe traipsed with ease from his keyboard, trusty melodica, and mike.

White Williams, who’s gotten a ton of accolades recently for his self-recorded album Smoke, was celebrating the homecoming show of his first headlining tour. No worries, if you chickened out and huddled by your heater, he’ll be at SXSW and also has plans to tour Europe this spring- (FYI: for you international fans, White Williams recently signed with Domino Records, which will release Smoke outside the US in the upcoming months.) For a taste of his style, download his track "New Violence" below.
