Back to Morr Music, who gave us the splendid Flowchart remix on Monday. This time we head in an opposite direction, towards the lite, poptastic sounds of Iceland's Benni Hemm Hemm (aka Benedikt H. Hermannsson). Like a Sufjan of Reykjavik, Hermannsson leads a band of merry musicmakers and collaborates with some heavy-hitting S.O.B.s (Jens Lekman, for one).
Snjórljóssnjór is appropriate for these winter months because its about snow. And that's it. It goes: "Snow light / snow light / light snow / light snow" atop a clattering of Of Montreal-like indie carnival music. Think of the wonderful land of Morr Music as a number of principalities, and the brass-happy Benni currently currently rules over its pop kingdom. Salut!
