For the purists amongst you - there’s dj’s and then there’s DJ’s. And then there’s Phil K. Phil K (full name Phil Krokidis) is an electronic music DJ and producer from Melbourne, Australia. Loads of great shit coming out of Australia these days (look no further than our brothers at Modular Records for proof). We were in attendance as he graced the Whump PA at Los Angeles club Nacional last night with another installment of the almost legendary Monday Social. And he dropped the shit. Experimental and brave. He’s a busy man performing duties in The Operators, Hi-Fi Bugs and of course Lo-Step. Fat heavy, heavy sounds. What Vangelis would sound like if he’d been to Detroit and stayed at Juan Atkins pad. Watch this space for more Monday Social.
