DOWNLOAD: Thunderbear

Thunderbear is he side-project for Thorbjørn Krogshede, the main composer of Danish experimental rock outfit (and much loved around the blogosphere) Under Byen. Whereas Under Byen’s folky experiments recall Björk fronting Grizzly Bear, Thunderbear is where Thorbjørn truly let’s his freak flag fly, so to speak. The sound ranges from folk to (gasp!) free jazz, and the band really use music as the blank canvas it should be, without adhering to a particular genre or style. Very edifying, indeed.

Thunderbear, who are on Morningside Records (like Under Byen, Jomi Massage and Speaker Bite Me, who we also featured this week) is helping put Denmark on the map as far as awesome indie music goes.
