VIDEO: Dirty Projectors x Black Flag at the Fader Blog

The Dirty Projectors' Rise Above threw a musical curveball earlier this year. It's a new kind of cover album, a re-imagination of Black Flag's Damaged constructed solely from front man David Longstreth's memory of listening to the album as a teen. It's jumbled and patchworked, and is turning out to be one of the most acclaimed records of the year. The Fader Blog have taken it one step further by writing a mini-thesis on appropriation in music, and comparing videos of different incarnations of Black Flag and Dirty Projectors performing Black Flag's hardcore classic "Depression". It makes for an interesting read, so check it out.
