FEATURED: Atlas Sound

Atlas Sound is Bradford Cox of Atlanta indie experimentalists Deerhunter, possibly the most blogged about band this past year. Atlas Sound songs are a little more straightforward than Deerhunter, keeping the shoegazing to a minimum and focusing on the more lyrical side of Bradford's brain. He's posted a free holiday EP (apparently, 'tis the season on the Internet) on the blog he shares with his bandmates, and the first track is the completely gorgeous "Requiem for All the Lonely Teenagers With Passed Out Moms", which is pretty self-explanatory. The instrumentation is bare, leaving room for only Bradford's messy guitars and hollow voice. Have yourself a gloomy little Christmas...
