FEATURED: Nick Broomfield at the SEEN RCRD LBL blog

If you're a fan of '90s music, there's no way you missed out on documentarian Nick Broomfield's milestone films Kurt and Courtney and Biggie & Tupac. Both movies are prime examples of amazing music documentaries, and Broomfield's embedded journalistic approach to getting in touch with Courtney Love or finding out the truth about hip-hop's most infamous rivalry is totally awe-inspiring. He's just released his latest film on DVD, Ghosts, a documentary about illegal immigrant smuggling. It's harrowing and beautiful and we find it particularly interesting that Broomfield always finds the strength to scrutinize his subjects with the same intensity, whether it be Kurt Cobain, serial killer Aileen Wuornos (in 1992's Aileen Wuornos: The Selling of a Serial Killer and 2003's Aileen: Life and Death of a Serial Killer), or the family members of Chinese immigrants who died on their way to England.
SEEN have posted an in-depth interview with Broomfield on their RCRD LBL blog regarding Ghosts' DVD release, so take a minute to check it out, it's really edifying and interesting.
