FEATURED: Deerhunter interviews post-punk legends Pylon

It's so nice to see a somewhat obscure yet seminal band get some recognition with a new generation. Pylon formed in 1979 and were one of the forerunners of the Athens, GA scene in the early '80s (where bands like REM and the B-52's originated), but were somewhat eclipsed by their contemporaries. Luckily, DFA (purveyors of all things post-punk and cool) have re-released Pylon's 1980 debut record Gyrate for those of us who weren't there the first time around.
To mark this occasion, Bradford Cox from the mass-acclaimed Atlanta experimental rock band Deerhunter interviewed bassist Michael Lachowski and vocalist Vanessa Briscoe Hay for the band's blog. It's really interesting to see elder statesmen such as Pylon interact with newer bands from the same area, so we recommend you check it out.
