DOWNLOAD: Beat the Devil - Shine in Exile

For our last download of the week, we'd like to bring your attention to "Shine in Exile" by Beat the Devil, a harmoinum-and-bass-powered group from Brooklyn fronted by the petite Shilpa Ray, whose haunting voice brings to mind Nico, Grace Slick and a voodoo priest woman all at once. "Shine in Exile" is slightly more upbeat and rocked-out than their previous offering for RCRD LBL, "Plea in Bargain", and would work well as a soundtrack for a freaky-deaky get together circa 1969—but since it's winter 2007, here it is in download format.
