Video: Prodigy's Last Before Jailtime

SEEN tuned into the Power 106 radio interview with Prodigy, one half of NYC rap crew Mobb Deep, last night (Dec 5).  Prodigy talked about his new album released on Koch Records, entitled 'HNIC 2' (short for "Head Nigga In Charge 2").  He's in the studio putting the finishing touches to this album that will keep him on the streets, in a virtual sense, whilst he's in jail for 3 1/2 years for illegal possession of a firearm.

In tribute to Prodigy, SEEN found this amazing mash-up of Mobb Deep's 'Quiet Storm' and the animated film 'Advent Children' (based on the Final Fantasy VII video game) which creates a whole new level of soundtrack experience. This is a new genre called AMV, short for anime music videos. The internet is choc full of some very creative cut and paste AMVs which match classic tunes to realistic video games. If you want to create your own, check out this useful resource.

Here's the video interview Prodigy did with Hot 97 in his home town last month where he talked about his case and resolve to stay positive in jail, and here's the video directed by DanTheMan for the first single off of Prodigy's third album, ABC.

"In broad daylight get right..just been through it all man...what the fuck else can happen yo!?"
- Mobb Deep from 'Quiet Storm'

And if you can't get enough visual/music mashups, check out the classic The Warriors vs. The Fugees:
