TOUR: Richard Hawley

Richard Hawley used to be in one of the best pop bands of the '90s (we'll assume that you know we're talking about Pulp here) but managed to stay out of the limelight for quite a while, content to let Jarvis Cocker lap up the fans while he blew away '50s and '60s music aficionados with his guitar playing. Legend has it, it was actually Jarvis himself who coaxed Richard into the studio to record his own albums, and what a coup: Richard's sound is refreshingly retro and totally appealing to fans of Roy Orbison, Phil Spector, and Johnny Cash, who are all valid reference points. Richard is kicking off his first national US tour this week in NYC, check out the dates below.
