EXCLUSIVE DOWNLOAD: Professor Murder - Flex-It Formula

Many, many months ago--before we even had a site--we approached Brooklyn-based party starters Professor Murder about working together and cooking up some jams for us. We'd been fans since their first-ever show ("we were there!") and were really excited by the prospect of letting them stretch out their globally-informed dance/soca/punk/dub sound to the outer limits for an exclusive RCRD LBL release.

Well, after holing up with production team the Brothers (!!!, Free Blood, Telepathe) in a BK studio, they came back to us with this, "Flex-It Formula," the first of three songs we'll be releasing from their Professor Murder On A Desert Island EP. In true P. Murder fashion, it draws from Jamaican sound systems, NYC street corner mixtapes, Southern bounce anthems and a slew of other musical reference points. It's a very fitting soundtrack to the grab it, mash it, throw it out there culture we're living in right now—as well as your next house party. We hope you dig it.

I saw these fellas rip it up

I saw these fellas rip it up at a warehouse party in Philly back in May... got some video of the show right here on my Live Music Journal video blog.
