When Australian band Van She came out with their international indie hit "Kelly" last year (via our pals at Modular), the song totally confirmed our belief in the whole '80s throwback scene that's been going on for the past few years. The thing about Van She compared to most other electro pop acts of the moment is that they actually sound like a cut from some obscure '80s dance compilation, and not like they just found one recently and decided to rip it off wholesale. Their new single is called "Cat & The Eye" and it ditches the dreamy, synth-driven aspect of "Kelly" and delves right into Cure/Echo and the Bunnymen/Stone Roses territory—and still manages to be super hot.
