CHECK IT: iLiketrains
iLiKETRAiNS are five guys in their 20s who hail from Leeds, England. Unlike other bands from that city (Kaiser Chiefs, The Cribs, etc) iLiKETRAiNS sound more like the morose alcoholic at the end of the bar than the rowdy youth partying in the booth next to him. They're like a shoegaze band fronted by Morrissey, and all of their songs are inspired by notable events in Britain's history ("Spencer Perceval", for example, is about the first and only assassinated UK prime minister). Their debut record, The Elegies to Lessons Learnt, is one of the best post-rock records of the year.
