Oxford's prefix/suffix-rock explorers Youthmovies, contort your eyebrows one minute and assault your senses like champagne crackling in your cerebral cortex the next. They make what could only be considered prog-pop, which is an adventurous blend of math-rock time changes of bands like Captain Jazz and American Football, doing those Mars Volta and Battles artsome genre flips, but with a penchant for party bands like Q and Not U, Les Savy Fav and er, Panic! at the Disco.

They’re one of the UK’s most revered independent acts, with many bands forming in their wake, including much more literally buzz band du jour Foals, which the band's frontman Andrew Mears started as a fun side-project several years ago and left when it all got a bit too serious. Members of the band also run Try Harder records which released the aforementioned Foals debut, as well as singles and albums by the likes of Blood Red Shoes, Redjetson, Blanket, Jonquil and more. They’ve got various side-projects and collaboration bands, have done one-off live film soundtracks, been Saul Williams's backing band and thus far released various EPs, vinyl, demo collections and a mini-album.

Anyway, without further ado, here are three tracks which feature on their debut album, Good Nature , which is released via our label Drowned in Sound Recordings in March. These versions of the tracks were recorded live at All Tomorrows Parties earlier this year.
