It is of our humble opinion that Tracey Thorn possesses one of the most singular voices in the history of pop music, and her new, criminally underrated album Out of the Woods is one of the best laid-back pop albums of the year. One of the standout tracks from Woods, the pulsating, groovy "Rise the Roof" is a pure joy for anyone who misses Everything But The Girl's early trip-hop records. Keytars and Violins just featured a remix of "Raise the Roof" from Beyond the Wizard's Sleeve, which some of you might recognize as being DJ/remixer titan Erol Alkan's new producing project. A match made in heaven, we're sure you will agree.
